Sport Horse Classes

Alabama Spring Charity Horse Show

Judge: Peter Hansen, Chadds Ford, PA

Photographer: Mike Riviere, Huntsville, AL

The Sport Horse Division had a successful day.  Seven horses were entered,
but only six showed.  Judge Peter Hansen spent a great deal of time
instructing the entrants and spectators.  All entrants were given a practice
on the triangle before judging began.  A gold, silver, and bronze trophy,
plus ribbons, were awarded in each class.  The scores were announced with
reason for placing.  Entrants and spectators were enthusiastic and
encouraged about Saddlebred sport horses.

The winner of the in-hand division also won the jumping and took second in
the under saddle division, with a catch rider.  This proves the theory that
the walk and trot on the triangle shows true potential.

Suitability in hand placing were:  The Spitfire, owned by The Long Grey Line
Farm, Laurie Cameron, handler.  2nd Miss Mattie Withers owned and handled by
Sue Wessling.  3rd Hawker Hurricane, owned by The Long Grey Line Farm,
Laurie Cameron, handler.

Suitability under saddle:  Hawker Hurricane, ridden by Laurie Cameron,  The
Spitfire ridden by Megan Goforth, Day is Done, owned by The Long Grey Line
Farm, ridden by Perry Letson

Suitability for jumping:  The Spitfire, Bugle Call Rag, owned by The Long
Grey Line Farm, Hawker Hurricane, all ridden by Laurie Cameron.
